This course is designed to meet the requirements of NFPA 470 – Hazardous Materials Operations / Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD). Emergency Response. Personnel are trained to meet the minimum job performance requirements to appropriately respond to incidents involving hazardous materials / weapons of mass destruction in order to protect the public, responders and the environment. Participants learn to effectively use personal protective equipment in cases of hazardous material releases, and how to implement control measures.
Note: Participants must pass all practical activities and achieve a minimum score of 70% on all written assessments
IFSAC or ProBoard accredited Hazardous Materials Awareness Level course meeting the requirements of NFPA 472, 1072, or 470.
Priority will be given to Police, Public Safety, and Fire Service applicants.
