Speed Measurement Devices

  • Agency selects course/training required; should attending members meet prerequisites
  • Agency will download the QF135 Course Registration Form by clicking on the register now tab
  • Download the enrollment form and save as the following: Name of agency, name of applicant, name of course and date
  • Agency completes the Course Registration Form (with as much information as possible) and email a completed copy to the ÎçÒ¹av In-Service Mail Box found at apainservicetraining@hollandcollege.com
  • Email and attach the completed form using the same name of agency, name of applicant, name of course and date as the subject line. This will allow for quick and streamlined processing of the application
  • Agency will be provided with a follow-up email advising of the result of their attendance
  • Should a member be selected for training, the member will be provided with joining instructions to assist with their enrollment

Course Description

This course equips participants with the knowledge and skills needed to effectively and accurately operate speed detection and enforcement devices. Training focuses on the Decatur Genesis 2, Stalker 2, and Kustom Golden Eagle 3 radar systems, as well as the Kustom Pro Laser 4 handheld LIDAR device. Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of both the theoretical and practical applications of these tools, including the legal principles necessary for court preparation and testimony. Additionally, successful completion of the course will earn participants two separate certifications: one for RADAR and one for LIDAR.

Course Prerequisites

  • Non-restricted Class 5 driving license. Some restrictions may be
  • permitted during driver training
  • Current sworn member in good standing of a law enforcement/public safety agency
  • Be supported by immediate supervisor and or Chief of service
  • Fulfilled all use of force requirements set out by area Police Service Act

It is also our opinion that the ÎçÒ¹av recommends agencies attend with an unmarked service vehicle outfitted with a speed measuring device.  If an agency requires that the ÎçÒ¹av facilitate a vehicle, they are to contact the in-service directory to generate a separate quote. This crse will also provide those members attending with x2 separate certificates RADAR and LIDAR
