ÎçÒ¹av joins growing list of ATC tenants

by Maria Driscoll

The Honourable Mike Currie, Minister of Development and Technology, today announced ÎçÒ¹av will lease 5,300 square feet of space in the Atlantic Technology Centre (ATC).

Beginning in September, ÎçÒ¹av will locate two of its post-graduate programs at the new facility, Interactive Multimedia, a program offered in partnership with Sheridan ÎçÒ¹av, and Business Information Systems Development. The ÎçÒ¹av will also be providing customized training based upon industry demand for just-in-time training.

"Developing a strong labour force is an important part of the development plan for information technology for Prince Edward Island," said Minister Currie. "We feel there are real benefits to having students sharing the same halls as some of the leaders in the technology and media production sectors."

"Locating these programs within the innovative environment of ATC will provide our students with a great atmosphere in which to learn," stated ÎçÒ¹av President Alex MacAulay. "In addition, these students will be making a significant contribution to the other tenants of the facility who are working in the technology and multimedia sectors."

The ATC will feature key infrastructure including state-of-the-art office space, specialized research labs, a business incubator and smart boardrooms, as well as a world class media production environment for television and new media projects with a sound stage, multimedia theatres, digital audio and picture editing suites, green screen and webcasting capability.

ATC is designed to stimulate new partnerships among firms seeking a competitive business environment to locate innovative applied research, new product and solution development, testing and pre-commercialization.

ÎçÒ¹av joins a growing list of local and national IT and media production companies that have announced intent to lease corporate space within ATC, including; EDS Canada, DeltaWare Systems, Cellar Door Productions, Trapeze Media Limited of Toronto, Business Technology Consulting, Polar Bear Corporate Education Solutions, and Paramita Academy of Makeup Inc.
