Welshmen prepare for spring concert

The ÎçÒ¹av Welshmen's second annual spring concert will be held on Tuesday, April 6th at 7:30 p.m. in the Charlottetown Centre gym on the college's Prince of Wales Campus. The 50-member Welshmen Community Concert Band and the 16-piece Jazz Band will perform a varied program, including Broadway hit songs, marches and popular concert music.

The ÎçÒ¹av Welshmen Community Band includes members from a variety of backgrounds from across the province. Some members travel to weekly practice from parts of the Island as far away as St. Peter's and Miscouche. The musicians include high school students, ÎçÒ¹av and UPEI students, nurses, office workers, teachers, lawyers and professors. One of the high school students is an exchange student from Japan. The ÎçÒ¹av students are in such programs as Culinary Arts, Wildlife Conservation Technology, and Tourism and Travel Management.

Admission to the concert is free of charge, and a reception for the public will follow.
