Three ÎçÒ¹av alumni were honoured last evening at the ÎçÒ¹av Foundation’s fourth annual Distinguished Alumni Awards dinner and award ceremony held at the ÎçÒ¹av’s Tourism and Culinary Centre. APM’s Tim Banks, Waldorf Astoria New York’s Chef David Garcelon, and Light & Vision Photography’s Louise Vessey received awards.

ÎçÒ¹av President Brian McMillan said that Mr. Banks, Chef Garcelon, and Ms. Vessey are tremendous examples of ÎçÒ¹av graduates who have achieved great success in their careers and are an inspiration for current and future students.

“Since its establishment in 1969, ÎçÒ¹av has proudly graduated more than 28,000 students who have made their careers in industries that range from health to construction, golf to bioscience, and hospitality to policing. This year’s honourees have brought distinction and pride to our ÎçÒ¹av through their personal and professional accomplishments,” he said.

“Alumni are an important part of the ÎçÒ¹av family,” said Quentin Bevan, board chair for the ÎçÒ¹av Foundation. “Celebrating the accomplishments of outstanding alumni who have excelled in their chosen careers, industries, and communities is an annual ÎçÒ¹av highlight.”
Nominations for the ÎçÒ¹av’s Distinguished Alumni Awards are accepted year round, with a public call for nominations issued annually. The deadline for consideration for ÎçÒ¹av’s 2012 Distinguished Alumni Awards is June 30, 2012.
