Three ÎçÒ¹av alumni were honoured recently at the ÎçÒ¹av Foundation’s fifth annual Distinguished Alumni Awards dinner held at the college’s Tourism and Culinary Centre. Red Island Hospitality Group’s Steven Barber, Westmont’s Barry Sheen (retired), and K&K Quality Care’s Kathy Ward Doucette were the recipients for 2012.
ÎçÒ¹av President, Brian McMillan said that Mr. Barber, Mr. Sheen, and Ms. Ward Doucette are tremendous examples of ÎçÒ¹av graduates who have achieved great success in their careers while continuing to affect positive change in their communities and serve as inspirational figures for current and future students.
“This year’s honorees have brought distinction and pride to our college through their personal and professional accomplishments. It is with great pleasure that we acknowledge their contributions by naming them Distinguished Alumni of ÎçÒ¹av.”
“Alumni are a vital part of the ÎçÒ¹av family,” said Quentin Bevan, Board Chair for the ÎçÒ¹av Foundation. “Celebrating the accomplishments of outstanding alumni who have excelled in their chosen careers, industries, and communities is an annual college highlight.”
Nominations for the college’s Distinguished Alumni Awards are accepted year round and a public call for nominations is issued annually. The deadline for consideration for ÎçÒ¹av’s 2013 Distinguished Alumni Awards is June 30, 2013.
