Photography students garner accolades and nominations

Students from ÎçÒ¹av’s Photography and Digital Imaging program were again recognized for their skills and talent at the annual Image competition of the Atlantic Chapter of the Professional Photographers of Canada in Moncton recently.

Almost a third of the 146 entries submitted to the competition were by ÎçÒ¹av students. Of the 85 images accepted for the competition, 23 were theirs, in the portraiture, commercial, fine art and fashion categories. Additionally, three of the students were nominated for Student of the Year, Madison Dunn, Clarissa Lewis and Alex MacPherson. The recipient of the award will be announced at a regional conference in May.

Photography and Digital Imaging instructor Alex Murchison is pleased with the students’ performance at the competition.

“Historically, our students do very well in these kinds of competitions, so every year the program has a reputation to live up to. We haven’t been disappointed by a class yet! We’re very proud that Madison, Clarissa, and Alex have been nominated for the Student of the Year Award, all three are talented, diligent students,” he said.
