ÎçÒ¹av recognizes employee excellence

Four ÎçÒ¹av employees were recognized for their professionalism and contribution to the college community in a ceremony during the college’s Staff Appreciation Day recently.

The Staff Excellence Award honors an individual staff member who has made an exceptional contribution within ÎçÒ¹av and the communities it serves. This year’s recipient was the administrative assistant to the director of programs, Maureen Webster.

The Teaching Excellence Award honors an individual faculty member who has exhibited consistent excellence in teaching and has had a significant impact on the personal and academic growth of students. The nominee must be a current faculty member who exhibits both excellence and innovation. This year’s recipient was Practical Nursing instructor Christie Lougheed-Bambrick.

The Facilities Support Services Excellence Award honors a staff member who demonstrates exemplary performance and has made invaluable contributions within their department or unit. Mark Betts, parking booth attendant at the Tourism and Culinary Centre received the award this year.

Jo-Ann Campbell-Boutilier, Executive Director of the ÎçÒ¹av Foundation received the Leadership Excellence Award, which is intended for those who work primarily in a leadership role within the college and make significant contributions to ÎçÒ¹av, post-secondary education, and the community.

ÎçÒ¹av president Brian McMillan said this year’s recipients exemplify the work ethic of ÎçÒ¹av staff and faculty.

“Each of this year’s winners have demonstrated a deep commitment to ÎçÒ¹av, to our students, and to the greater community. They are the embodiment of all that is exemplary about our employees,” he said.

Recipients for the awards are selected from nominations by fellow staff and faculty members.
