ÎçÒ¹av to train Royal Newfoundland Constabulary cadets

The and the Atlantic Police Academy have entered into a new agreement where the academy will provide cadet training to new hires of the RNC. During training, RNC Cadets will receive up to $10,000 towards their tuition as well as earn $15 per hour for the duration of their 12 weeks of on-the-job training. Most importantly, if the new cadets successfully complete the Police Science (Cadet) program at the Atlantic Police Academy, they will be employed by the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary.

Prospective students interested in pursuing a career with the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary must by April 15,2022 to be eligible for the next intake of the 36-week Police Science (Cadet) program at the Atlantic Police Academy in December.

Forrest Spencer, Executive Director of the Atlantic Police Academy, said he is pleased to re-establish a relationship with the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary.

“We are very pleased that the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary has entrusted the ÎçÒ¹av and ÎçÒ¹av to deliver cadet training for their new hires. This is the culmination of a great deal of work by many people. Our staff deserve the lion’s share of credit because, as a result of COVID, we were given the opportunity to train some new RNC officers.  That initiative went very well.  It went well because of the effort put in by the RNC students, and the quality of our instructors and the curriculum they deliver on behalf of the academy. The RNC is offering a very attractive training package to prospective officers, and we are extremely proud to be part of it.”
